#saveourtown welcomes the news that Luton BID are supportive of the planning applications for Newlands Park and Power Court in Luton.

The response, published today (Thursday, August 16th) states that the proposed developments have “the potential to raise the standards in the town and help improve the overall perception of the town” if they go ahead and take into account five additional recommendations from Luton BID.

Nigel Green, Chairman of #saveourtown said: “We’re delighted with the publication of this decision, which we know comes after a period of thorough deliberation by the Luton BID Board of directors.

“This response shows a united front in supporting our town and only adds to the overwhelming feedback that we’ve already received in favour of these two proposals.

“However, we must remember the opposition from Capital & Regional (owners of The Mall) continues, and we mustn’t take our eye off the ball.”
